Just reading about one industry will not necessarily give you the full picture about the range of possible career opportunities. You may be able to start out in one industry and move to one of the linked industries because the skills required are similar.

Career Choices is arranged into 27 industries and describes what sort of jobs can be found in an industry, the training needed to get these jobs and general prospects for the industry. Each industry section has information on employment prospects and skills in demand in South Australia.

Career Choices gives you an estimate of the likely number of job openings over the next five years. Each section also includes:

• the occupations within the industry
• occupations currently in demand
• quick facts about the industry based on Census data
• your options for getting into the industry, including VET in SACE courses, post-school vocational training or university degrees
• contact details for the relevant South Australian Industry Skills Board, National Industry Skills Council and other relevant career information.
