Workforce Innovation Program |
In 2010/2011 the Skills Council undertook a Workforce Innovation Program with funding support from the Commonwealth Government (DEEWR). The Program sought to establish local industry driven Action teams to deal with the labour and workforce development issues affecting much of the industry especially in regional areas. Four regions were involved with the Program and valuable work was undertaken in establishing longer term local management arrangements. The Skills Council will continue to support these and other local management action groups and assist all regions to secure the skills and labour they need. |

The Skills Council received funding to conduct an innovative assessment project looking at ways RTO's can work more effectively with enterprises and share the assessment and delivery load. At the core of the project was valuing the role that each enterprise plays in training and assessing employees and building reliable mechanisms for assessment between the RTO's and enterprises.
